Edmonton’s Ever Evolving Landscape is Turning Heads

Regardless of whether snow is flying, or the late summer sun is setting at 11 p.m., Edmonton’s event calendar is packed with possibilities. This might have something to do with Edmonton being Canada’s youngest and fastest growing capital city, or that it’s a hotbed of cultural diversity. Their youthful energy breeds innovation, oozes excitement, and makes them eager to embrace risk in the search of something new.

“Show Your Badge” Program (Edmonton Tourism)

In their constant quest to reduce their environmental impact, Edmonton Tourism has created an innovative program for conferences that will not only simplify attendee’s experiences, it will help reduce carbon emissions. Starting in Winter 2018, conference organizers can work with the Edmonton Tourism team to access special passes that grant attendees free access to public transit during their event days. To utilize this program organizers must contact Edmonton Tourism ahead of the time to make arrangements.

JW Marriott (Opening Spring 2019)

ICE District, Edmonton’s brand new and emerging downtown entertainment hub, is seeing exciting developments take shape every day. In Spring of 2019, one of only three JW Marriott’s in Canada will open its doors in the ICE District and offer stunning, upscale accommodations in this bustling landmark. Featuring a luxury pool, outdoor terrace, 2,322 sq. m. of state-of-the-art meeting and conference space, and 346 modern suites, it will draw local and international travelers in for a sophisticated, modern experience.

Sustainable Meetings (Available now)

The City of Edmonton has made it its goal to reduce carbon emissions by 35 per cent by 2035, and the Edmonton Convention Centre (ECC) is working hard to be part of the solution. Starting now, with the help of ECC’s planning team, event organizers can set sustainability goals and utilize ECC programs to help realize them. Whether through waste audits, ECC’s Sustainability Toolkit, or connecting with local sustainably focused businesses, ECC is committed to helping organizers every step of the way.
