American Express Global Business Travel Canada’s new offering helps companies capitalize on unused airline tickets

Flight cancellations and rescheduling is all in a day’s work for corporate travel managers. But the resulting leftover travel credits can be a huge—and costly—headache.

That’s why American Express Global Business Travel Canada has introduced The Future Travel Credit Management Solution to help reduce wasted credits and streamline the process.

The system allows for name transfers on unused travel credits with Canadian airlines, allowing credits to be applied to the itineraries of other travellers within the organization. Companies can stipulate how long credits stay with an individual before being added to the pool.

To ensure credits are used to their full potential and do not expire, the system tracks and applies the travel rules of individual airlines.

The Future Travel Credit Management Solution sprung from requests from Canadian clients seeking a better way to manage unused tickets, says Colin Temple, vice-president and general manager of American Express Global Business Travel Canada. “The system can help customers save $10,000 to $100,000 in credits a year, not to mention increasing time efficiency,” he says.
