It won't be long now before the dreaded "f" word—fall—will start. The summer vacays are over, the kids head back to class and event schedules begin to ramp up at a pace that doesn't stop until the "c" word—Christmas—hits. But before we all get ahead of ourselves, here are three nifty gadgets you might want to consider for your meeting/conference planner toolbox.

Your Vote Counts

Sli.do is essentially a voting and a Q&A application that can be used at live events. What you'll like is that it's very affordable, easy to use and it's completely web-based. To vote, all the audience has to do is go to the Sli.do webpage with the special URL for your event and vote. No downloads, apps or setting up an account. Audience members can be identified or can stay anonymous if they wish. The audience can also see a running list of potential questions to ask the speaker so that they can "like" or "dislike" which questions have top priority.

TheLearnApp

This mobile learning platform can be used for training sessions on smartphones and tablets. Administration can manage courses, exams and users with the content management system. The app provides detailed analytics such as user and performance history, plus course completion and examination statistics. A gamification element can be utilized to award performance leaders and incentivize the training process.

Speak to Me

This new web-based simultaneous translation service allows delegates from around the world to fully interact with your live meeting in a choice of languages. The language used on your conference floor is streamed live to pairs of interpreters in offices in London and Brussels. The languages required are then streamed to delegates on their computers, laptops or mobile devices. Whales on Waves is working with Eurosis, a London-based interpreter's company. Delegates are given a secure login to follow the meeting remotely.

MEETINGS + EVENTS
Stargazing
The Cineplex VIP theatres add a different twist to seeing stars with their sophisticated meeting space in various locations across the country. Luxe leather-like recliners in stadium formation, with armrests and individual tablet tables add another dimension to meetings, especially with state-of-the-art AV plugged into giant screens. Not only for meetings, the VIP complexes can be taken over for client or employee appreciation events. Licensed bar service and sophisticated appetizers can be served in the sleek lounge area before the movie starts. Even better, there's no lineups for popcorn!

CORPORATE TRAVEL MANAGEMENT
Uber for Business
The popular ride-finding app, Uber, can now be used for business. With Uber for Business, employees link with a company credit card and bill directly to that account. Travel administrators can add employees to the system with just a name and an email address. With drivers in over 130 cities, in 42 countries worldwide, getting from Point A to B has never seemed easier. Travellers can add memos to their trip information for accounting purposes. No more taxi chits and one less item to fill out on an expense report.

INCENTIVES + REWARDS
Dreams Come True
The new Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World is now open. There's lots for groups to discover, with an extensive full-service spa, rooftop dining at Capa Steakhouse (opening in September) with perfect views of nightly fireworks from the Magic Kingdom. The completely refurbished Tom Fazio-designed golf course will reopen in September as well. The hotel has 443 rooms and 68 suites. Dedicated function space at the south end of the resort features two ballrooms with soaring ceilings and natural light. Seven other meeting rooms some with outside terraces, and the large King Meadow outside area are perfect for larger group functions.
