Cala de Mar Resort & Spa Ixtapa Awarded One MICHELIN Key in the 2025 MICHELIN Guide for Hotels

Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, Guerrero—Cala de Mar Resort & Spa Ixtapa is proud to announce its inclusion in the 2025 MICHELIN Guide for Hotels, having earned the prestigious distinction of One MICHELIN Key in recognition of its outstanding hospitality. The newly released list of Mexico’s top-rated hotels highlights Cala de Mar as a “serene and elegant seaside retreat.” Perched on a cliffside with 59 oceanview suites, the resort offers guests a tranquil escape immersed in natural beauty.

The MICHELIN Guide selects hotels through anonymous visits by expert inspectors who evaluate each property based on universal standards of excellence—architecture and design, quality of service, character, and value for the price. Out of over 5,000 hotels reviewed worldwide, only those offering truly memorable stays are awarded a MICHELIN Key. Similar to the Guide’s globally renowned star system for restaurants, this new hotel distinction ranges from one to three keys. Each key signals a verified level of excellence, offering travelers a trusted symbol of hospitality at its finest.

World-Class Gastronomy

Cala de Mar enhances its dreamy setting with five-star culinary offerings across four signature restaurants. Under the Ixtapa sun, Las Rocas Restaurant serves simple, creative dishes in a relaxed poolside atmosphere. Seafood Market is known for the freshest Pacific fish and seafood, served in a cozy, locally inspired setting. At the heart of the resort, A Mares Restaurant features the Executive Chef’s original creations paired with premier Mexican and international wines. At the same time, the A Mares Terrace Bar offers tapas and snacks with breathtaking sunset views over the ocean. This comprehensive culinary experience—including 24-hour in-room dining—played a key role in the resort’s recognition by MICHELIN.

A Sanctuary of Luxury and Tradition

Cala de Mar is also home to El Capricho Spa, a haven of wellness that blends ancient Aztec healing traditions with modern luxury. Just steps from the ocean, the spa is described as “a true sanctuary for the senses,” where the citrus scent of toronjil, a flower native to Guerrero, greets guests upon arrival. The spa menu features signature treatments using regional ingredients such as cacao, coffee, aloe, and cactus, alongside reflexology, body scrubs, and hydrotherapy. Amenities like a jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna round out a deeply restorative experience designed to nourish body and soul.

Impact for Mexico and Global Recognition

This MICHELIN recognition not only elevates Cala de Mar but also reinforces the global prestige of Mexico as a world-class travel destination. In total, four hotels in the state of Guerrero received MICHELIN Keys for their “excellence in hospitality,” placing it “on the global tourism map” and showcasing its unique combination of understated luxury, natural immersion, and cultural authenticity. The MICHELIN distinction enhances international visibility for the region—especially among discerning travelers from the U.S., Canada, and beyond—who seek the singular charm of Mexico’s Pacific coast.

This global seal, granted in 2024 for the first time, certifies that guests at Cala de Mar will enjoy an exceptional hospitality experience, upheld by the MICHELIN Guide’s internationally recognized standards.

MexicoIberostar Hotels & Resorts announces the opening of Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun, a five-star all-inclusive resort located in the Riviera Maya, just 20 minutes from Cancun International Airport and near the fishing village of Puerto Morelos. This initiative includes an introduction to the brand’s philosophy and values, along with specialized training across all operational areas.

Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun will also embody the company’s commitment to responsible tourism, integrating the principles of the Iberostar Wave of Change movement. The resort will operate without single-use plastics in the guest experience, feature purified drinking water stations, and offer responsibly sourced seafood. In addition, a 3R Team will oversee waste sorting and categorization, supporting the company’s goal of sending zero waste to landfill.

DC’s Tech Moment: How the nation’s capital is becoming a magnet for AI and innovation conferences
As conversations about innovation and AI continue to grow, Washington, DC is quickly becoming one of the nation’s most vibrant tech hubs, attracting not just policymakers but also businesses. We’re seeing it firsthand through the companies establishing a presence here and the major conferences choosing DC as their stage.
Here’s what’s driving the momentum:
  • DC’s tech and defense tech companies leased over 700,000 square feet of office space last year — more than twice the volume in 2023 — making tech one of the city’s top four leasing sectors alongside law, nonprofits, and government.
  • Companies like OpenAI, SpaceX, CoreWeave, ServiceNow, and NVIDIA are expanding in the region, while Andreessen Horowitz and other venture capital firms are establishing a presence.
  • Major players like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and Palantir are growing their presence and partnerships in the region. The city’s startup scene is thriving, especially in cybersecurity, government technology, and AI, driven by innovators such as Cloudflare, EchoStar and LeanIX.
  • Station DC — an innovation hub with over 500 members — recently opened its doors to bring startups, venture capital and policy leaders together in Union Market.
  • Tech events are choosing DC. The NVIDIA GTC AI Conference and Expo, along with Nutanix, made its DC debut this year at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, joining a growing list of high-profile meetings focused on AI, quantum computing and digital transformation. The Google Public Sector Summit was recently held at the Ronald Reagan International Trade Center.
DC’s unique position at the crossroads of technology, policy and national security offers companies and event organizers access to federal agencies, global leaders and top talent. These developments are changing how the world perceives Washington — not just as the nation’s capital but as a hub for innovation and technology-focused events.

Sailing from April through October, the season introduces 50 new voyages that explore the beauty, history, and culture of Europe’s celebrated coastlines. Each itinerary pairs marquee cities with lesser-traveled ports, offering extended time ashore and curated excursions that bring each destination to life.

The season will introduce 12 new ports of call across France, Denmark, Norway, Germany, Spain, and Italy, further expanding the brand’s footprint while maintaining its boutique approach to discovery at sea. Highlights include La Rochelle, France, with its charming harbor and medieval architecture, and Zadar, Croatia, where sunset sail-aways pass the famed Sea Organ, an architectural work that transforms the movement of the waves into music. In Northern Europe, additions such as Aarhus, Denmark, and Travemünde, Germany deepen Baltic and North Sea itineraries, while San Sebastián, Santander, and A Coruña showcase the diverse traditions of northern Spain.

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection also introduces Tilbury, London as a new turnaround port, providing convenient access from the city center for voyages across Northern Europe. In the Adriatic, all sailings will call on Dubrovnik with frequent visits to Kotor, creating more opportunities to highlight the region’s historic architecture and dramatic fjord-like landscapes. Across the Greek Isles, voyages will increase with additional four- to seven-night itineraries designed for flexible, curated escapes. Ports such as Piran and Nafplio set the stage for unhurried days, with Marina time for leisurely seawater swims and an array of water activities.

Across the Mediterranean, adventures range from off-roading to Mount Etna followed by a mountainside wine estate visit, to a sky-to-cellar helicopter journey soaring above Mallorca’s Serra de Tramuntana before landing for a picturesque tasting at an organic gravity-flow winery. • Spirit of Achievement: A deep massage that pays tribute to the renowned statue of the same name, which for nearly a century has stood proudly atop the hotel's entrance, symbolizing progress and human potential. The treatment focuses on the neck, décolleté, and back to release tension and awakens inner strength.

  • Like Clockwork: A mind-release ritual paying tribute to the notable Waldorf Astoria Clock, using synchronized sounds and binaural frequencies from a vibroacoustic table to promote deep relaxation and clarity.

  • Golden Hour: A face-sculpting treatment that uses cold spheres and Gua Sha to reveal a radiant, luminous glow.

  • Deep Muscular Signé New York: A powerful massage born from the effervescent energy of Manhattan, designed to melt away deep-seated tension and restore flexibility through deep tissue techniques and targeted pressure.

Beyond these exclusive rituals, Guerlain Wellness Spa offers a range of bespoke facial and body treatments. The Orchidée Impériale collection provides exceptional anti-aging facials with intense regenerating powers, while tailor-made facials are formulated to purify, hydrate, or regenerate the skin. For men, a dedicated selection of facial and body treatments, such as the Skin Saver Facial and Muscular Energy massage, are available to refresh and nourish the skin and body. Special occasions can be celebrated with "Time Together" experiences like Romantic Getaways or Bonding Bliss, which allow guests to share a treatment with a loved one or friend as well as dedicated services for moments including weddings, post-travel, parents-to-be, and more are thoughtfully curated.

"Wellness is an essential expression of modern luxury, and at Waldorf Astoria it has long been part of our promise to guests,” said Dino Michael, senior vice president and category head, luxury brands, Hilton. "With the opening of Guerlain Wellness Spa, we bring that philosophy to life with a new level of artistry and sophistication, creating spaces where beauty and vitality are inseparable from the Waldorf Astoria experience.”

Advanced Technologies

Guerlain Wellness Spa’s pioneering approach to wellness is highlighted by its advanced technologies. The Guerlain LongeviSkin® device, a proprietary, multi-action tool, unites seven of the most advanced skincare technologies, including LED, plasma, microcurrent, micropeel, ultrasound, cryo, and radiofrequency, into one powerful system to deliver visible and lasting results for both face and body. This technology works deeply across all skin layers to address firmness, radiance, and signs of aging. The spa also features the Amphibia Welnamis system, which uses binaural vibroacoustic technology for deep relaxation, and a Cryotherapy Chamber for physical recovery and cellular renewal. Other unique technologies include AI virtual reality goggles, which take guests on an immersive journey through the wonders of nature as a standalone lounge amenity or when paired with a specially designed massage, a Quartz Treatment Table, and LED HUB technology.

"The reopening of the Guerlain Wellness Spa at Waldorf Astoria New York is a momentous occasion, celebrating Trilogy's integral role in uniting two iconic brands synonymous with luxury hospitality, timeless beauty, and holistic wellness. To accompany the hotel and spa's renovation, we've created a seamless integration of spa, wellness, and retail designed to maximize the Guerlain experience for travelers and New Yorkers alike. With expanded facilities, two new Guerlain boutiques, and cutting-edge wellness technologies, we're poised to deliver an unparalleled guest journey that honors the legacy of both Guerlain and Waldorf Astoria," said David Stoup, co-founder and chairman, Trilogy.

Artful Design

The design, artfully crafted by Wimberly Interiors, draws from Waldorf Astoria New York’s legendary Art Deco heritage and Guerlain’s refined Parisian legacy, resulting in interiors that balance contemporary style with a timeless appeal. This approach is expressed through thoughtful proportions, tailored detailing, and well-appointed furnishings. Inside, classic Art Deco motifs, linear elements, sculptural silhouettes, and metallic accents lend a sense of glamour, while the understated elegance of a French Maison is conveyed through tactile materials, decorative lighting, and custom millwork. A palette of soft whites and warm woods, accented by delicate infusions of color, creates a cohesive and inviting atmosphere that aligns with the hotel’s distinctive identity.

The dedicated beauty and wellness space is complemented by a 7,000-square-foot state-of-the-art fitness center, designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon. Technology-backed fitness consultations, including a comprehensive analysis using the Technogym Checkup, as well as personal training and semi-personal coaching offerings, are available to help visitors achieve their fitness goals effectively.

Waldorf Astoria Residences New York

Residents of Waldorf Astoria Residences New York also have exclusive access to a dedicated wellness area on the 25th floor of the residences, which includes a 25-meter swimming pool, two treatment rooms, and a fitness center — all elevated by bespoke Guerlain touches and tailor-made wellness experiences. Residents can receive personalized Guerlain spa services in-residence or in the resident spa facilities with complimentary service enhancements. Alternatively, they can visit the hotel's spa with special owner benefits.

The opening of Waldorf Astoria New York marked a historic moment for the renowned property. Introducing PUNCH, A New Dialogue of Modern London Energy Accented with Indian Flavours, Opening at Le Germain Hôtel Toronto Mercer on October 2, 2025

Toronto—Le Germain Hôtel Toronto Mercer announces the opening of PUNCH, a restaurant concept inspired by the eclectic pulse of modern London, where Indian influences weave through every detail. From heritage-rooted dishes to design-forward spaces, PUNCH delivers everyday luxury that is sophisticated, spirited, and entirely new. Reservations are now open.

Born from the Hindi word pañch, meaning “five” and pronounced punch, the name carries a dual meaning. In the 17th century, punch became known as the world’s first cocktail; a blend of spirit, sugar, lemon, water, and spiced tea, originating from the Indian subcontinent before being carried to England by the East India Company. True to its namesake, PUNCH, continues that story of two cultures colliding, where heritage meets reinvention. Punch also refers to the five senses invited to take part in the experience. It is a bridge between worlds, crafted with taste, soul and style.

Punch is both deeply personal and profoundly cultural. The food tells a story, rooted in flavours passed down through generations and reimagined with a contemporary vision. Service is refined yet inviting, delivered with a generosity of spirit that makes guests feel instantly at home.

“I feel privileged to share a menu that reflects my own story and cultural roots. At PUNCH, my goal is to immerse guests in the flavours and spices that echo Indian tradition, while encompassing my training in global dining flavour. We aim to offer a truly one of one experience unlike anything the city has seen before,” said Executive Chef Mandar Kulkarni (Le Select Bistro, Don Alfonso 1890, BISHA, BUCA Osteria & Bar).

Dishes are drawn from family recipes, reinterpreting the flavours of Indian aunties and British mums. Tradition is the foundation, but imagination is at the forefront. The menu is designed for sharing, echoing the warmth of meals enjoyed at home while channeling London’s esteemed gastronomic culture. The Mumbai Chat-Slaw layers crisp vegetables with tamarind yogurt and boondi for a playful nod to street food. The Madai Crudo is finished with crisp pear-kohlrabi relish, bay leaf powder and herb oil, while the Beef Wellington pairs tenderloin and wild mushroom duxelles with Swiss chard, sunchoke purée, and a Rogan Josh jus. The Butter Chicken Pot Pie reinvents the British staple with tender chicken in rich makhani sauce beneath golden pastry, bridging comfort and exotic flavour.

“Our vision was to bring a spark of London’s daring energy to Toronto, a city that’s already a global hub,” said Marie Pier Germain, Co-President of Germain Hôtels. “At Germain Hôtels, we celebrate sophistication with a boutique Canadian twist and PUNCH takes that spirit even further. We wanted to create something truly unique that resonates with tastemakers and world travellers alike who are seeking a modern, cultured experience with a playful edge.”

Set to a backdrop of Indo house beats, the bar, backed by stained glass and a towering display, is anchored by a striking two-toned marble floor of green and beige. It’s here that the cocktail program comes alive, blending imagination with unexpected flavour combinations. Pimm’s Remix playfully twists the British classic with vodka, jasmine tea, coconut, passionfruit, and a fiery piri-piri finish, while the Crown Jewel infuses gin with Darjeeling tea, and a subtle lift of pineapple-anise bitters.

Designed by Block Plan Studios, the 91-seat dining room evokes the spirit of a timeless British guild hall enriched with exquisite verde marble, masterfully finished wood paneling, and rich textures that are equally luxurious and modern. The effect? An understated opulence that feels like it has been tucked away on Mercer Street for decades. Warm tones of mustard, golden amber and pine green decorate the space while whimsical art animates the wood walls.

The main dining room glows with light from intricately crafted custom fixtures, crowned by four breathtaking chandeliers that combine Baccarat-style brilliance and English Regency charm to anchor the over-height ceilings with artisan precision.

The private dining room unfolds like a secret garden; its walls dressed in hand-painted foliage and delicate birdsong motifs. The space feels like a privé salon and features an exclusive bar for moments that feel both personal and celebratory. It hosts up to 18 guests for an intimate dinner or 35 for a cocktail-style gathering.

Tucked just off the Le Germain Hôtel Toronto Mercer lobby, the chic, martini-focused Library Lounge offers a refined hideaway surrounded by warm bookcases and low-slung seating. For walk-in guests, it’s the perfect place to linger with a cocktail while awaiting a table at PUNCH.

PUNCH is open for dinner and will introduce brunch later this year. For more information, please visit www.punchtoronto.com. Reservations are available on Open Table. PUNCH is located at Le Germain Hôtel Toronto Mercer, 30 Mercer Street, Toronto.

Valet parking is available.

As the first Moxy property in the region, Moxy Tulum introduces a fresh, youthful energy to CALA’s hospitality landscape—catering to a new generation of travelers seeking immersive, design-forward experiences.

Canada Named One of the World’s Top 10 Countries in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards

Vancouver, BC—Canada is having a moment. From coast to coast to coast, the country’s natural beauty, open-hearted spirit, and unforgettable travel experiences continue to capture the imagination of travelers worldwide. This week, that admiration was reaffirmed as Canada was named among the Top 10 Countries in the World in the 2025 US Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, one of the most respected accolades in global travel.

Each year, Condé Nast Traveler invites hundreds of thousands of readers to rate their favorite destinations across the globe. In the 2025 rankings, Canada earned the #10 spot, a recognition that celebrates both the country’s breathtaking landscapes and the warmth of its people. Other parts of the country were recognized in categories like: “Best Airport” and “Best Cities.”

This recognition joins a wave of 2025 accolades, among them Canada tops the list of nations in RepCore® Nations 2025 report, produced by Reputation Lab, reflecting Canada’s natural beauty, safety, and welcoming spirit. Canada also snagged three of the top five spots on North America's 50 Best Restaurants list including Mon Lapin (Montréal, Québec), Restaurant Pearl Morissette (Lincoln, Ontario) and Tanière3 (Québec City, Québec). It’s further proof that in Canada, travelers naturally find what they’re looking for.

“Travelers today are craving what’s real; experiences that build compassion, spark belonging, and remind us of what we share,” says Gloria Loree, Senior Vice-President, Marketing Strategy & Chief Marketing Officer at Destination Canada. “For Americans, Canada offers exactly that. It’s a place that welcomes you in, leaves a lasting mark, and sends you home seeing the world and one another a little differently.”

As travelers seek connection, meaning, and authenticity, Canada continues to deliver whether through vibrant cityscapes like Toronto and Montréal, wild wonderlands like Banff and Yukon, or Indigenous-led experiences that honor the land and its stories. From the people to the places, here’s a taste of what makes those moments so lasting:

  • A welcome that feels personal. In Canada, kindness isn’t a gesture, it’s a way of life. Conversations come easily, and visitors feel like neighbors from the moment they arrive.

  • A culture open to many stories. Canada’s identity is woven from many threads - Indigenous, French, English, and global - blending into a mosaic that shows up in every neighborhood, market, and festival.

  • Cities in harmony with nature. From Montréal’s creative spirit to Vancouver’s coastal calm, Canadian cities invite exploration while keeping nature close at hand.

  • Room to breathe. Towering peaks, quiet forests, and endless skies remind travelers to slow down, recharge, and reconnect with the world around them.

  • Moments that can’t be staged. Whether sparked by a shared meal, a starlit sky, or an unexpected act of generosity, the experiences in Canada linger - leaving travelers more open, grounded, and inspired.

With this recognition from Condé Nast Traveler’s US readers, Canada’s place as a global leader in tourism is stronger than ever and is a true reflection of a destination where travel feels both transformative and true to its nature. Victoria, B.C.—For the third year in a row, Victoria, B.C. has been named the No.1 Small City in the World in Condé Nast Traveler’s annual Readers’ Choice Awards. The waterfront capital of British Columbia placed ahead of other notable destinations, including Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; Florence, Italy; Lucerne, Switzerland; and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

“Being recognized as the World’s Best Small City by Condé Nast Traveler’s discerning readers for a third consecutive year is both an honour and a testament to Greater Victoria’s incredible community,” said Paul Nursey, CEO of Destination Greater Victoria. “This achievement reflects the quality and dedication of our members and their teams, whose passion for service and hospitality sets Greater Victoria apart on the global stage. Sustainability lies at the heart of Greater Victoria’s approach, reflecting the values upheld by the community. Recognized as one of North America’s most sustainable destinations on the Global Destination Sustainability Index (GDS-Index), Victoria was the first urban destination in Canada or the U.S. to earn Biosphere Certification in 2023, successfully recertifying in both 2024 and 2025.

“This award highlights what makes Greater Victoria exceptional and why we are so proud to share our region with the world,” adds Nursey. “Our commitment is to deliver authentic, memorable experiences and to keep raising the bar for responsible, welcoming tourism.”

Grand Opening of a Historic Icon: Rosemead House Debuts in Victoria, BC

Vancouver Island's newest luxury boutique hotel is now open, following the success of Janevca Kitchen & Lounge

Aragon Properties (Aragon) announces the grand opening of Rosemead House, a restored Edwardian estate located in Esquimalt's Saxe Point, just minutes from Victoria's Inner Harbour.  The 1906 property, once the famed Old English Inn, was designed by celebrated architect Samuel Maclure, whose portfolio includes Government House, the official residence of the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, and the storied Hatley Castle. Rosemead House quietly welcomed its first guests this spring, offering a preview of what was to come. Today marks the full debut of the property, following a meticulous 10-year restoration and $25 million investment. The landmark has been transformed into a boutique hotel that blends history, design, and personalized service, redefining luxury hospitality on Vancouver Island.

Rosemead House features 28 individually styled guest rooms in the original manor and a newly constructed wing, with 13 long-stay suites coming later this year. Curated by Aragon's in-house design team and owner Lenny Moy, the interiors showcase hundreds of hand-selected antiques sourced from more than 50 UK estate auctions, alongside rare furnishings and china from London's famed Savoy and Dorchester hotels. Guests are welcomed by replica Buckingham Palace gates and can retreat to The Crown Mezzanine library, surrounded by art and heirlooms—including pieces once used in The Crown Netflix series.

"Rosemead House is a celebration of storytelling - of place, of heritage, and of the collections that fill each room," says Lenny Moy, owner of Aragon Properties. "We set out to create an experience that feels like entering the pages of a well-travelled novel: immersive, refined, and truly without compare in British Columbia."

At the heart of the property is Janevca Kitchen & Lounge, already a standout on Vancouver Island's culinary map and recently named a finalist for Air Canada's Best New Restaurant 2025. Led by Chef Andrea Alridge, Janevca has redefined wood-fired cuisine with a menu rooted in memory, heritage, and fire.

Rosemead House amenities include the Salt & Ivy Spa, a 3,800-square-foot sanctuary opening in two phases: a relaxation lounge and treatment rooms debut this fall, with additional wellness features to follow in 2026. Guests can also access 2,500 square feet of meeting and event space, as well as a 1,400-square-foot fitness centre featuring Peloton bikes, yoga space, free weights, and state-of-the-art equipment.

"From the moment guests arrive, our goal is to offer something unexpected-something personal," says Uwe Walter, General Manager of Rosemead House. "We want each stay to feel like an unfolding story, rooted in hospitality, character, and curiosity. There is no place quite like Rosemead House, and we're thrilled to welcome the world to experience it."

Rooted in the past, yet designed for today's discerning traveller, Rosemead House invites guests to discover a property where no two rooms - or experiences - are ever the same.

Reservations are now available at www.rosemeadhouse.ca

Wellness is embedded in the company’s DNA, and the team saw limitless potential for clients to boost ROI by “Wowing with Wellness.”

Armed with this insight, Caesars developed a wellness menu that goes beyond nutritious food. It includes immersive activations such as sound baths, yin yoga, breathwork tea ceremonies, and keynote speakers who are leaders in the wellness space. The team launched a Global Wellness Forum in Las Vegas, inviting top meeting planners to experience the program firsthand. Activities included forest bathing at Mt. Charleston and a peaceful rafting tour on the Colorado River—both held in the morning, followed by educational sessions in the afternoon.

Following the forum’s success, the team embarked on a six-city roadshow, bringing the wellness experience to planners and professionals across the country. Stops included Atlanta, Seattle, Chicago, Phoenix/Scottsdale, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C.

“We’re incredibly proud to be at the forefront of the wellness movement, ensuring that we meet the needs of all, including Gen Z and Millennials,” said Reina Herschdorfer, Director of Marketing, Caesars Entertainment National Meetings & Events. “As a marketer and planner myself, I truly believe that incorporating wellness experiences into our events makes a meaningful difference in people’s lives, makes every event more impactful, and provides a stronger ROE.”

W Toronto Hotel Unveils Volume II: A Multi-Level Renovation Marking a New Era of Bold Luxury

The reimagined Living Room reopens on the ground floor, with the rooftop debut of TONO by Akira Back coming this fall

Toronto/CNW/—Like the much-anticipated second album from a breakout artist,  W Toronto Hotel is debuting a renewed rhythm: remixed, refined, and ready to be re-experienced. Aptly titled Volume II, the Yorkville property is unveiling the first phase of its multi-level transformation with the debut of Living Room, the brand's signature lobby lounge, now reimagined and redesigned as the heartbeat of the hotel. The evolution will continue with the upcoming opening of TONO, a rooftop restaurant led by acclaimed chef and restaurateur Akira Back. Designed to deliver more than just a luxury stay or culinary journey, Volume II sets the stage for an experience that is unmistakably W: bold, immersive, and reenvisioned for a new generation of travellers.

Visitors step straight into the city's soundtrack as they enter the all-new lobby lounge and coffee bar, an all-day destination fueling mornings with specialty coffees and pastries, and evolving into a cocktail lounge with live music and performances as evening falls.

Living Room has been reinvented to echo the beat of day-to-day routines, rooted in unexpected moments, music-driven activations, and creative energy. Beverages and bubbly lead the way, with Perrier Jouët Champagnes, a lineup of signature cocktails and spirit-free selections, all drawing inspiration from the hotel's artwork and surroundings. Enjoy a new curated menu of locally-inspired bar bites, entrees and shareables, including gojuchang fried cauliflower, mushroom arancini, charcuterie and flatbreads.

The space is a front-row seat to the ever-evolving scene, where the city's pulse meets hotel indulgence. By day, ease into rituals like High Tea or discover seasonal coffees on rotation from local roaster Barocco. Afternoons unfold with Warm-Up Sessions, setting the tone through happy hour offerings and building into the energy of daily performances by local and global artists during Live in Living Room. Weekends come alive with immersive experiences from DJ sets and vinyl sessions to workshops and spontaneous pop-ups that invite guests to slow down and listen with intention.

"Reimagining Living Room on the ground floor was about creating synergy between W and the city," says Elie Sassine, General Manager of W Toronto Hotel. "Now, when you walk through our doors, you are immersed in the heart of the hotel, where Toronto's originality and the true identity of the W Hotels brand come to life. Whether guests join us for coffee at sunrise or cocktails at night, Living Room is where the experience culminates."

Conceived by the internationally acclaimed Chapi Chapo Design, the design concept nods to Yorkville's 1960s bohemian spirit with inspiration from the polished sophistication of the Mink Mile. The result is a modern lounge that feels fresh yet familiar. Featuring intimate nooks, communal areas, and a dedicated live music zone, Living Room is a destination capturing the vibe of downtown's trendiest neighbourhoods, where connection, creativity, and comfort converge.

The next track in Volume II's queue will be released this October, TONO by Akira Back. Situated on the hotel's rooftop, TONO introduces Yorkville to the world of Nikkei cuisine, a blend of Japanese precision and Peruvian passion. Under the visionary leadership of Michelin-starred Chef Akira Back, renowned for his rebellious yet refined culinary style, the menu pays tribute to time-honoured traditions while pushing the boundaries of flavour and presentation. As early October approaches, further insights about TONO by Akira Back and its offerings will be unveiled.

With its refreshed look, programming, and amplified food and beverage offerings, the rollout of Living Room and TONO reaffirms W Toronto Hotel as a leading downtown destination. Located in Canada's largest city, in the iconic cultural and style district of Yorkville, the hotel is at the crossroads of renowned landmarks and entertainment hubs, offering access to acclaimed attractions like world-class museums and concert venues.

Living Room is located on the ground floor of W Toronto Hotel at 90 Bloor St E, Toronto, Ontario. The Living Room Coffee Bar is open daily from 6:30 AM to 2:00 PM, and the Living Room Bar is open daily from 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM.
