Ignite - a spark of inspiration

When used in conjunction with your travel management partner, Montreal-based MagnaTech's SafeToGo app for Android, BlackBerry and iPhone comes with a range of features and tools for the implementation of a duty of care program.

Travel Plans:
A full size travel document is delivered by email to the traveller and company travel arranger. The invoice is archived for one full year and can by retrieved via a private web portal.
Before you Go:
Based on the travel itinerary, SafeToGo automatically retrieves a travel advisory for that region and links it to the app for in-flight reading.
Built-in Conversion:
The app will automatically adjust its entire set of services to the local currency, weather, news sites, and the embassy location in your destination. Alerts from the SafeToGo scanning system will be posted to your mobile device if they could impact your trip such as weather advisories and developing political situations.
Safe Zone:
This is an additional feature to the basic software. A defined "safe zone" can be set for travellers in high-risk areas. If the geo-signal is outside of that perimeter, an alert will be sent to your named security personnel and trigger policies and actions to be taken. As soon as the out-of-zone alarm is activated, breadcrumb tracking will log the exact map coordinates of the device and display exact positions on the route taken, the speed of travel and the current direction.
Travel Advisories:
SafeToGo partners with eTravel Technologies (eTT) for timely travel conditions in more than 285 countries worldwide. If an event occurs in a destination after departure, eTT will push the information to the traveller's mobile device and email it to your company security personnel.

CORPORATE TRAVEL MANAGEMENT
Hotel Negotiations
Egencia has recently released its first Mid-Year Hotel Review to help corporate travel managers identify saving opportunities. Chris Vukelich, Egencia's vice president of supplier relations, Americas, says "A company's savings from their own negotiated rates can vary significantly throughout the course of the year. Signing the contract with a hotel is just the beginning; in order to ensure savings are actualized, travel and procurement professionals need to be vigilant and take action when negotiated rates rise above market averages." The Mid-Year Hotel Review suggests corporations should focus their negotiations in key markets where the volume is, instead of relying on chain-wide discounts across every market.

CORPORATE GIFTS + REWARDS
Exclusive Partnership
The Hertz Corporation has inked a three-year exclusive global partnership with the Relais & Chateaux association of luxury hotels and restaurants. The agreement will allow both companies to benefit from exclusive offers and preferential rates. The relationship builds on a successful partnership the two companies have in France. As part of the agreement, Hertz Gold Plus Reward members will receive five per cent off gift packages and certificates, as well as free enrollment in the Relais & Chateaux loyalty program for one year. Hertz's Five Star and President's Circle members can access three nights for the price of two and 10 per cent off gift packages and certificates at the hotels. Relais & Chateaux properties are in 60 countries around the world.
